Zoey Dickenson is a dancer, choreographer, and teacher based out of Chicago. Originally from Bourbonnais, IL, Zoey grew up training in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, modern, and contemporary at Paula Aubry School of Dance. Throughout her training, Zoey has attended summer programs with Chicago National Association of Dance Masters, Eisenhower Dance Detroit, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Visceral Dance Chicago, and Royal Flux Dance Company.
After graduating high school, Zoey attended Indiana University, where she earned her BFA in Dance and a minor in Media and Creative Advertising. While at IU, she performed in works by artists such as Cameron McKinney, Elizabeth Shea, Evelyn Wang, Beatrice Capote, Erik Abbott-Main, Sarah Wroth, and Braeden Barnes. Zoey also began her training in aerial silks during this time. She is the recipient of the Rena Shriver Dance Scholarship, the Marina Svetlova Dance Endowment Scholarship, and an IU College of Arts and Sciences grant, which she used to choreograph, cast, and present her first full-length work, "Color Me Human" (2022).
Upon graduating from Indiana in 2023, Zoey moved to Chicago to pursue her dance career. She has since appeared in the Simantikos Choreo Kick-Off Festival, the Trifecta Dance Festival, and Chicago Dancemakers Forum's "Dance Chance." She is enthralled to begin her apprenticeship with Aerial Dance Chicago!
