Karen Fisher Doyle (she/they) is Assistant Director of Aerial Dance Chicago for the 25th anniversary season, and a choreographer, dancer, and teacher with the company since joining ADC officially in 2003. In addition to her work with ADC, Karen danced with multiple Chicago dance companies and independent choreographers including over a decade career in flamenco dance, performing locally and internationally. Throughout the past two decades, Karen has contributed to the creative output of ADC as a long time resident choreographer, creating over 55 dance works for the stage. Starting in 2013, she has had the honor of being a part of the leadership team at ADC, assisting with the artistic direction of the company and supporting ADC’s unique artistic vision. Karen is thrilled to continue to support this unique vision as the Assistant Director this 25th Anniversary season, celebrating the extensive history of the company. During her creative work with ADC, Karen earned Critics Choice Awards twice for her works in Around the Coyote Dance Festival and received a CAAP grant for her choreography development. Karen’s work has been presented at Millennium Park, The Grand Ballroom of the Drake Hotel, Ruth Page Center for the Arts, Athenaeum Theater, Prairie Center for the Arts, Vittum Theater, Links Hall, North Shore Center for Performing Arts, Lobero Theatre in Santa Barbara, Louis Armstrong Theatre and Touhill Performing Arts Center. Her work has also been presented at multiple festivals including Dance Chicago, HCCDF, and Spring to Dance, and in collaborative projects with Chloe Jensen for Redmoon Theatre and Elements Contemporary Ballet. Karen was a feature teacher and performing artist for ADC at the Santa Barbara Floor to Air Dance Festival and led a teaching residency at Grand Valley State University. With a deep appreciation for the beauty and grace of this one of a kind dance company, she is honored to be part of ADC's Artistic Team.
