Aerial Dance Chicago is seeking versatile and diverse professional dancers for our 25th anniversary season

Free training, paid rehearsals and paid performances

No prior aerial experience is needed

Audition Invitation-Only Basis

May 16-17, 2024

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL POSSES

  • Advanced/Professional level training in ballet, contemporary dance and/or other dance forms

  • Strong dance partnering and improvisation skills

  • Strong work ethic for physically and mentally demanding aerial dance training

  • Cooperative attitude for working collaboratively with other company artists and guest artists

  • Full availability for pre-season training, all weekly rehearsal hours and performance schedule listed below

  • No previous aerial experience is needed. Free aerial dance training will be provided prior to the start of the season and throughout the season.

SEASON SCHEDULE 

  • Required Pre-season Training: May 28-June 14 and June 24-August 18

  • Season Dates: August 19, 2024  - April 5, 2025

  • Rehearsals Hours: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 9:45am-2:00pm

  • Nov 8-9, 2024: Studio Production at Aerial Dance Chicago

  • March 30-April 5, 2025: 25th anniversary concert at Ruth Page Theatre

  • More performance dates to be announced

PAY AND BENEFITS

  • Paid rehearsals $15.80 per hour

  • Paid performances $120 per performance

  • Dancers are paid W2 earning employees of the organization (not independent contractors)

Audition Application

Submit the application below. If selected to participate in the live audition, reserve May 16 from 10:00am-2:00pm. Expect a ballet barre, contemporary center, ground-based repertoire and a beginner level introduction to aerial dance work. Cuts will be made throughout. Callbacks will be May 17 from 10:00am-2:00pm and will consist of class, aerial training, repertoire and interviews. Dancers must be available for both the audition and callbacks to be considered.
